We are so inspired by the brave students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida who spoke up and spoke out after the tragic shooting at their school.
The new book We Say #NeverAgain is a journalistic look at the shooting and the fight for gun control—as told by the student reporters themselves. It’s a story only they could tell, using the techniques they learned in their journalism classes.
The upcoming book Parkland Speaks is an intimate collection including poetry, eyewitness accounts, letters, speeches, journal entries, and more from the students of the Parkland tragedy revealing a raw look at their lives and a poignant representation of grief, healing, and hope.
Both books show how the students enacted a movement, shared the facts, and healed through sharing their story.
And now, we want to hear yours! Whether you take to social media to speak your mind, write for your school newspaper, or express yourself via poetry or fiction, you have a story to tell—and we are here to listen.
We encourage you to share a story about a cause you believe in, an event that happened in your community or on the news, or something you care deeply about, in whatever format you choose. Whether you’re angry, confused, hurt, passionate, hopeful, or just want to take a moment to reflect on your own life, you are welcome here. And your voice will be heard.
